I am a teacher with a California credential in Special Education moderate to severe with a Masters of Arts degree in the field of special education moderate to severe. My educational journey begun in 1998 teaching preschool then holding a preliminary credential in multiple subject teaching primary grades, middle school, high school, and continuation school in the public school system at Bear Valley Unified district. I then decided to change my credential to special education in 2013, moving from Big Bear to Los Angeles County working as an intern at a nonpublic school teaching moderate to severe middle school and high school students, then clearing my credential moved to the transition programs with students ages 18 to 22. My students disabilities included autism spectrum disability (ASD), emotional disturbance (ED), intellectual disability (ID), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). After teaching for five years I was promoted to Master Teacher/Curriculum Instructor. I also hold a certificate in the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) providing evidence-based social skills treatment to adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, and other socio-emotional problems.
